hello all! my little girl just turned 1 yesterday. i have been trying to get her to eat on a plate for about 1 month and 1/2 . for a few minutes she eats off of it with her fingers....then she flips the plate. any advice how to get her to stop this habit. i have tried suction cupped plates but she just pulls on the plate and it allows it to get air and loose the suction.thank you

I think it will come with time...every kid that I know of (including my son) does that at first...eventually after you teaching and talking till your blue in the face your child will get the picture not to flip her plate...My one year old wont even touch her food...she will only touch dry food...but my son (when he was our kids age) made a huge mess but eventually got the hang of it

thank you anna...i will just assume she is not ready for a plate yet. i will just continue to put the food down on her high chair or table, and wait a little bit. thank you

my daughter isnt ready for that just yet, but my nephew used to do the same thing... when he decided he was done he would flip it over. i believe my sister and i did that too. i think its just a kid thing. but i used to just put his food on the high chair without a plate for a little while then started up the plate thing again later on. its messy... but she just might not be ready for a plate. oh and getting a twister mat or a shower curtain that is easy to clean... and putting it under the high chair makes for easy clean up after.

dunno if that was helpful but i hope you can get it worked out :)
