My daughter is nearly 6 months and appears to be teething already,

She is generally a very happy baby but lately she has become a bit grumpy and clingy and wont sit or be held by anyone except me ...I know she wants cuddles n kisses when she is in pain or is tired but in the last 2 weeks she has become upset and distressed if I even try to give her to her dad or poppy so I can have a shower or simply tidy up around the house ...I worked in childcare for 5 years and was able to pick up some tricks of the trade but nothing I do seems to calm her down

:(

My daughter is the same way. Her first two teeth just broke through but it took a lot of patience. I gave her tylenol and put her teethers in the freezer. Now I tell people that she is going to cry when they hold her but you have to engage her and let her cry for a little while and then she will get used to you. i try to leave the room all together so she can't see me.

Thanks ,thats a very helpfull tip :) hopefully she will learn that other people arent scary or arent going to hurt her then she will be able to sit and play with others if I need to do other things .. :)

My daughter is almost 5 months and already had her first tooth break through. I have the same problem with her she was in the hospital for the first 4 weeks of life and when I brought her home noone else including my husband couldnt hold her for more then 5 minutes without her screaming. I just kept handing her off to people at times when she was the calmest like right after eating and having them play with her the way I would. She still will only tolerate it for so long but is getting better. She is to the point that others can finally feed her and play with her but when shes tired she wants me to put her to bed which we are working on know. All I can say is find someone who can handle her crying and pass her over and do what you need to then go back and give her hugs and kisses then hand her back over and just keep at it.
