Co-sleeping?

Does any one else co-sleep? If you did, how long before your kids slept in their own bed? Did you have to train them to sleep on their own or did they transition naturally?

Yeah, my kids won't start the night by themselves. I can put my 2 year son in his toddler bed after he's asleep.... Thus my 9 month old daughter, lol.

We do partial co-sleeping from birth. We put our baby to sleep in her bed at night (in our room) and when she wakes for a feeding I bring her to bed. Between 8 and 12 months our baby goes into big sisters' room and when she wakes for a feeding I bring her to bed. This works out great because I never have to train her to sleep without since she's already use to going to sleep in her bed without me. Once she starts sleeping through the night, the co-sleeping naturally ends.

My daughter (who is 10 months) and I have been co-sleeping with us since day one! It feels so natural and right, plus she sleeps much better. I don't have to worry about her, and since we're breastfeeding, having her right there just makes it that much easier. I wouldn't do it any other way!

I BFed my son exclusively for 3 months and then BFed with some formula feedings until 9 months (when he hit soldis he didn't want momma any more). I BFed my daughter 3 weeks but she had jaundice really bad and need supplemental formula to poop out the billiruben(sp?). After she started having bottles she didn't want momma anymore, and my milk dried up even with pumping every feeding and for 20 minutes afterwards.

My son would NEVER sleep alone. He would cry until he would puke (with us going in with intervals to pat his back). He's now 2 1/2 and still sleeps with us. Sometimes he'll sleep in his bed or take naps in his bed, but most time he sleeps with us. Which is fine because he sleeps like a rock with us and sleeps horrible alone. We also have a 9 month old who sleeps with us. She started out sleeping equally well with us or in her crib, but now she's going through separation anxiety and wants mommy and cries bloody murder when I put her in her crib and walk away. I've let her cry it out going in with longer intervals, but she always wakes up with in an hour or two. Whereas if she sleeps with us she sleeps all night long until between 7 and 9 am.

I don't mind co-sleeping and neither does my husband (thank goodness). I have never liked sleeping alone myself and got a cat as soon as I got my first apartment just to have someone to keep me company at night, lol. I guess it's hereditary.

Just wondering how I should help encourage my 2 1/2 year old to sleep in his big boy bed, or if I should just wait and let things progress naturally.

i co-slept with my son only for a few weeks..except for when i was too tired to get back up or when he was very irritable and then he liked to lay on my tummy while i rocked him. I co-slept with my daughter til she weaned herself at 5 months, i was just easier!! I often still sleep with my 3yr old daughter, my husband works nights so it is no problem if she gets in bed with me. both of them were happy with the...you sleep in your bed but if there is a problem i am always here for a cuddle theory

I am currently co-sleeping with my 7 month old. I also co-slept with my first daughter. She is now 3 years old. I quit co-sleeping with her when she was only 6 weeks old. She no longer nursed at night and self weaned at 2 years old.

I'm thinking I'll have a harder time with my LO. She's still nursing a couple times at night.

How old is your LO? Are they still nursing?
