When did your child really learn their colors? What age? I'm just wondering I know all kids are different, but I'm not sure when they should start knowing them. See my husband is color blind and I want to know if she should know them yet so I can see if she got that trait from her father.

Thanks!!

My daughter really started knowing the names of colors by 2 to 2.5 years. She has been painting and coloring since she was about 6 months old. The chance of a little girl being color blind is actually really slim. It usually affects boys and it's usually not noticed until they are closer to 5 or 6.

High School one of my many research papers I chose that subject. From what I found then it's rare for a female to have color blindness. It can happen but pretty untypical

I found some information on this website about your question. I too was wondering about what age my daughter should know colors. I did a bit of searching and found this out. My daughter is 17 months and I have been working with her, identifying colors, for about a month now. She can only say green but she knows green, red, and blue objects. I hope this helps. Good luck
