We are hoping to have a boy next... does anyone have anything ideas on ways to help us have a boy?

I've heard that if you know the day you are ovulating you should have sex only on the day after it, and none in the week before, b/c male sperm are faster but have shorter expiration dates. That was on a show like nurse midwife school.

There is a method called the Shettles Method that has been studied and says that timing of intercourse with ovulation can increase the chances of having a boy or a girl. For a boy, it says if you have intercourse on the day before, of and after ovulation, then you have a greater chance of conceiving a boy. Male sperm swim faster than female sperm so if he egg is right there, it has a better chance of reaching it first. Female sperm live longer and so if you time intercourse several days before or after ovulation, then the chances are higher for a girl. I have 1 boy and 1 baby on the way (gender unknown), but with my son, my husband and I had a lot of sex. I honestly had no idea where I was in my cycle since I was irregular. However, my neighbor said she thought it was the opposite, they had a lot of sex and conceived a girl. So really you can give it a try. Diet supposedly also can increase the chances too because an alkaline environment increases the chances of a boy, acidic girl. Google Shettles method for more info. Good luck!
