I'm a FTM that just so happened to be blessed with a baby who sleeps throughout the night. However, my older sister wasn't as lucky. We found that tons of stimulation during the day was the best way to get my niece to sleep for longer periods of time. For a infant that meant things like: extended tummy time, music (not loud of course), the bicycle, basically anything that forced her to be fully engaged. After a wash-up or bath, she would sleep past a feeding and give her mom time to rest.

Not all moms will agree with this, but you could try adding rice cereal to the bottle. If your little one is waking up cranky, it may be acid reflux or gas. If there is spit up, it may be the acid reflux. You can discuss meds with your doctor. Acid reflux can be painful for your baby. And there are gas drops available if you think it is gas pains. Make sure to burp to avoid as much of that as possible. And if this isn't an issue, then do what works! Try a bouncer, try a swing... My daughter slept the first 4months in a bouncer, in her crib. Also, try to start developing a routine. Do the same thing every night. Babies will start to associate certain activities together. An easy one is a bath. If you do a bath before bedtime, that may help. Make sure the room is darkened for sleep time! It is not easy, but you will make it through!
