Could I be pregnant?

I have a daughter that is almost 10 months old and shortly after she was born I had a copper iud inserted. When I had it inserted it was very painful and I have really bad periods now. (well I had bad periods before) But here in the last week or two I have been feeling these weird movements in my stomach. I considered muscle spasms and did research, but it said that they were painful. These "fluttering" movements however dont hurt in the less bit. I have also, been very irriable and I have had the need to eat more!! Could these symptoms mean I am pregnant? Please anyone have a theory?

It was the same with me, when I was pregnant with my son I tested 2 or 3 days early and it was the slap in your face positive. With this pregnancy (17 weeks) I tested one day late and it was a very faint positive but it was still there. ;)

You could do a few things. The first I would do is check to see if the strings can still be felt, just so you know the IUD is in place.
Then I would take a HPT, just to be sure.

I had phantom movements for almost 2 years after my first was born. At first I thought I may be pregnant, but after the first month I just got used to them.

well as it turns out i miscarried. I was at 22 dpo and 10 days late when it happened. i guess i kept getting faint positives because my hormones where low, then i miscarried.

Amanda, it varies for each pregnancy. With my first, I didn't get a positive until I was 10 days late. With my second, I tested 4 days early and it was positive. With my third, I tested a week late and it was positive. Usually no matter how faint, a positive is a positive:-).

Amanda you may just have enough hormones to start showing positive on the hpts as of today. Congrats! Time to call the doctor. ;)

O my goodness, thank you ladies. I thought I was the only one who could feel fluttering! I am SO relieved to hear others do too!!
I thought I was pregnant first time I felt the fluttering but now I am use to it and find I feel it close to my period coming.
And I would take a pregnancy test if I were you... good luck

Go to the doctor and have an ultrasound done to make sure the placement is still right. While checking the placement they will be able to see a baby. You want to make sure the placement is right because the miscarriage rate is high if you get pregnant with an IUD in. And the IUD is not as effect as a BC if it is not in there right...

If you can't get an US, at least go in for a pelvic exam so the doctor can check the placement. Cause besides pregnancy, the IUD can go up and implant in the uterus. Then surgery is needed to remove it. I had a mirena put in and after less then a year I had to have it removed, cause my strings came off and they rest started to go up into the uterus. Good luck.

You wouldn't have fluttering due to pregnancy unless you are fairly far along in the pregnancy where you would start to feel the baby. Like Brianna mentioned, a lot of women have phantom kicks for awhile after having a baby.

i have fluttering in my body now and then I first thought the same thing but that was months ago and no other signs of pregnancy. I would take a test as well just to be sure.

well if it was a baby big enough to feel move you would get a positive pregnancy test. alot of woman feel phantomkicks its totally normal it just gas bubbles and stuff and after u have been pregnant ur more sensitive to the feelings in the your body

Well the only contraception that is 100% is abstinence. It all sounds like a strong possibility. If I were you I would certainly be doing a test, even if it's a just home test. Good luck.
