my daughter recently developed cradle cap. just wondering on ways i can get rid of it because its really ugly and it makes me feel bad for her. I know it doesn't bother her but its just so dry and scaly.

I used Aquaphor! It works amazingly! My son had really bad cradle cap when he was about 2 months old and I used Aquaphor like 3 times and it was completely gone! I put it on him for a couple of days and then when I bathed him I would comb the remainder out before shampooing.

hay, my son has this really bad for about 3mths. Dentinox has a special shampoo, we used this every evening when he was in the bath. Then when it was time to get washed and dressed in the morning we would put baby oil on his head, just gently massage this into the scalp and leave it. no need to wash out or rinse it or defeats the purpose of soaking into the scalp, etc - this was advised by our health visitor. hope that helps. x

Hi Nicole,

My son had really bad cradle cap too. This is what worked for him: Apply a large amount of baby oil on her head and let it sit on there for about 5-10 minutes. Gently massage her head with a soft bristle brush and it will start coming right off. You may have to do it a few times but eventually it will be all gone. I hope that helps.

They sell cradle cap shampoos and conditioning products in the baby aisle in most shopping centers. My mom used baby oil and combed our scalps but I never used anything on my son nor picked at it. After a few months it goes away on it's own.
