Im a FTM and my three month old has had cradle cap (CC) since he was about five weeks old. It was only on his ears and eyebrows at first, but now it's in his beautiful curls! I wash it, gently comb it and have been able to get most of it out. While the CC is gone from his ears and eyebrows it keeps coming back in his hair. Just when I think we are on our way to a flake free scalp I'll find a new patch. What can I do to help my baby?

This is what my mom told me to do, I only had to do it 2 times and it was all gone and never came back!! I put a bit of baby oil in his hair and used a baby comb and gently combed all of it out. Then rinsed his hair really good. ( he has thick curly hair too).

When my son had it when he was first born he had it on his eyebrows and all over the top of his head and we would gently comb it out after a bath or using the baby oil trick. We didn't obsess over it too much and it eventually started coming out on his own, we just combed it out of his hair each day when flakes were starting to come off his scalp. The part that took the longest was the patch that was on his soft spot because I didn't like touching that area but now he is cradle cap free!
Some babies are worse than others so if it's a real concern you could talk to your doctor or look remedies that are safe online. But ultimately cradle cap is harmless. Hope I helped!

When my son had cradle cap I put Johnson and johnson's baby oil gel in his hair and scalp to moisturize it then with a comb with a lot of little teeth comb and scrape it out gently... It worked perfectly and after about 3 times it goes away... Cradle cap is just new skin cells sticking to old skin cells...

My son had cradle cap for awhile (he is now 3 months), but it has been gone for quite awhile now with some helpful advice from our pediatrician! She told us to quit using the baby shampoos and go buy the Selsun Blue with the lavender-colored border around the label on the front. It worked wonders!!! Seriously, within one use we could tell a difference and it was gone after 2 uses. I would HIGHLY recommend you go buy this right away. We're still using it. We also use the Dove Moisturizing Sensitive Skin body wash on our baby boy and it's great. :) Hope this helps.

I read somewhere that washing little ones hair often can sometimes make cradle cap worse, my baby has a lot of hair and I used to wash it every other night at bath time until she started to get CC I then stopped washing her hair with shampoo (for a good few days) instead just poured water on her head and it went after a couple of weeks, give it a go a free way to try anyway :)

Shennie, I noticed that my 2 month old son had cradle cap on the top of his head about 2 weeks ago. I bought Gentle Naturals cradle cap treatment from the baby section in Walmart. I've only had to do two different treatments, and the dry skin is almost completely gone. (It wasn't too severe when I started treatment.)
I believe the kit was around $5.00, and comes with a soft bristle brush for gently scrubbing.
Gently scrub the solution onto baby's head, and then shampoo as you usually do. I noticed a difference immediately after treatment.
Good luck.
