If you're not comfortable with or able to co-sleep I know there are little bassinets that attach to the side of your bed, ever gave any thought to that?

Mine would not sleep in anything other than my bed with me the day we got home from hospital, so I just co-slept with mine and it was wonderful:)

is the bassinet close to your bed. I wont let mine sleep wiht me never have but when he was that young he slept 2 ft from me. It gives them more comfort to know mommy is around.

Is he getting out of his swaddling blanket? I had some great advice given to me when mine was little and hope this helps you too. typically I saw how to swaddle was to leave their hands up towards their face (elbows bent) but I found out they sleep much better when you swaddle them with their arms down by their sides, they like it tight (not too tight) but have it enough so they cant get their arms loose, it can cause them to wake up often

Have you tried to swaddle him? If you tried early on I would try again. My middle child did not like to be swaddled right away out of the hospital but around 8 wks old then she liked it. I also found that for her she liked it better if her arms were out of the swaddle.
