Okay Ladies! Everytime I Put My Daughter In The Bath She Does Nothing But Scream!!! I Have Tried Everything So I Think. We Have Tried Toys In The Tub, I Have Gotten In With Her, I Have Given Her A Bath In The Sink. Any Ideas! I Hate Giving Her A Bath Cause She Hates It So Much. Any Ideas!

And How Many Times A Week Do You Give Your 7 Month Old A Bath? My Daughter Gets A Bath About 3 Times Or So A Week. I Would Like To Do It More Then That But I Hate Having Her Scream Like That. And I Am Also Afraid Shes Gonna Hate The Pool. Please Help Moms I Need It. Thanks!

i completely understand your frustration!my daughter went through the same problem when she was about two.it lasted for a good 6 months or so..it got so bad that all i had to do was start the water and she would freak, hide in the other room and get hysterical.i also tried the toys, the sink anything i could do.i was afraid of traumatizing her of water by forcing it,she got that upset,so spoke with the doctor and with his advice and by me getting in with her every time for about three months and her father washing her while i held her..she eventually got over it.try having someone help you that way you can focus on just talking to her and having someone eles do the work, she WILL eventually get over this.my daughter is now 5 and has no issues at all with bathing or swimming..shes a fish!

Try enrolling your baby in a water babies class at the YMCA or at your local rec center? My son is afraid of water (for whatever reason) and I had just signed him up for a babies swimming class. He cried the whole time on the 1st day but last night he totally loved it! I'm hoping he'll carry on this confidence during bath time. So give it a try! Plus it's totally fun!

Thanks Ladies! I Gave Her Another Bath Last Night. In The Sink. With Tons Of Toys To Play With. Shoot I Was Practically In The Sink With Her. And She Was Still Screaming. I Am So Frustrated I Dont Know What Else To Do. I Guess I Will Just Have To Try To Get In The Tub With Her All The Time And Hope That She Starts To Figure Out That Its Okay. I Wonder If The Pool Would Be A Good Place To Start. Cause If She Likes That With Me In There Maybe She Will Like The Bath. Shoot I Dont Know!

Just so you know, this isn't the first time I've heard of this--my cousin did the same thing. He's 8 now and likes the water just fine (no, I don't know when it stopped).

Have you tried letting her play with water without actually getting in (putting a few inches in the sink with a toy or some bubbles and laying her on her tummy on the counter)? If she will put weight on her legs, maybe dip her feet in while still dressed. Try letting her touch it every time you are in the bathroom, several times a day.

When my son was smaller I took him in the shower with me and just washed him while I held him standing under the water. If push comes to shove, maybe she will deal with the 2 minutes that takes.

does she scream when you undress her or is it just when she's in the water? I'm not much help as both my kids always loved bath time..perhaps check the water temp maybe she would like it cooler or warmer or maybe you could give her a cloth to chew on..that might distract her. My daughter hated having water on her head at that age and would scream when i washed her hair..luckily she didn't have much so i could do it quickly with a face cloth. Maybe get her Daddy to bath her.. see if that makes a difference.
