my daughter, age 4.5, calls my youngest daughters dad, dad, because he's the only one that has ever been there for her. now her biological dad is back and says he wants to be a part of her life. she doesn't know him. How should I introduce him to her? I don't want to confuse her and I don't want him to end up turning his back again on her. should it be by first name or an alternative name

Well, if you don't have any legal paperwork that says you have custody and he has no visitation rights, then you don't actually get to choose this. He could very easily just file and take you to court for visitation. So ultimately, this may not be your choice.

what does your husband say? i think it's up to you two. He has been there for her not her biological father. Maybe for now he should be a friend of mom and dads and if he proves to stick around introduce her to the fact that in fact he is her father. she is so young to have to go through this, which by all means is NOT your fault. good luck and please update i would love to see how you handled it.
