If you aren't in pain I would say wait, but even if you do it right away they only use carbocaine, septocaine, or lidocaine. Let them know you are nursing and they may just use carbocaine because that is the anesthetic they use on kids and adults with heart problems. Your dentist should know that you are nursing before hand and he should be able to make the right choice. Also, make the choice that you feel is best. I personally would wait if the tooth wasnt killing me....

I just had a root canal and am breast feeding too. They gave me like a zillion shots of novicane and said that it was fine. My 13 week old is still doing fine.

The big concern with the dentist is usually when you're pregnant. You just can't get your mouth x-rayed. Other than that, you should be fine! But always, if in doubt, ask your dentist... make sure they know you're b/f!

I had teeth pulled when i was 7 months pregnant and all they did was numb the area. I dont think it will affect your baby if they just numb it but tell your doctor you are bf.

Tell your dentist that you are breast feeding. They will let you know if you can us the anesthetic or not. If you need further input you can always call your doctor. Usually they just give you a shot to numb the gums and I really think that it will be just fine and there won't be any problems. They're not going to put you to sleep or anything so I'm sure it will be fine.
