My 9 month old has bad diaper rash and the runny poos. I just got the butt paste and it seems to be more gentle on his tush than A&D or desitin. My aunt suggested giving him a bath with a little dreft in it, haven't tried it yet though. I would appreciate some suggestions on what to do about the rash and I don't know if I can give him anything to make his poos not so runny, thanks.

Hi our pediatrician suggests using aquaphore ointment plus a mixture of musinex the dietary fiber additive and apply. It worked great and the doctor would use it when she was doing missions in Africa.

Use the B.R.A.T diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. It helps with diarrhea. Also, try a little gatorade in a sippy, he might be dehydrated from it, and he could use the electrolytes. If he won't drink it, they sell pedia-popsicles, with electrolytes in them. My son love love loves them!

Change his pants every hour. If your confident in it, let him run around naked for a bit. Getting some air down there can help. Also, change his diaper a lot more often to make sure he stays dry, I would change him every hour or hour and a half whether he needed it or not just to be sure he was staying dry. I hated when my kids got diaper rash. Another thing you can do and it may sound a little gross, but after while his booty will hurt when wiped, I would just put my kids in the tub and poor warm water on their tush to get most the poop off then let them sit in the tub to soak. Like I said its kinda gross so be prepared to bleach lol.

a warm bath with a little bit of epsom salts can help with the diaper rash. As for runny poo, try the brat diet [bananas, rice, applesauce, toast and tea] it helps bind it all up. And remember to keep him hydrated, babies can get seriously dehydrated very quickly.

I wouldn't be to worried it sounds like he is teething.
Yeah the baths work wonders because it helps to dry out the rash.
The runny poos, just keep up his fluids, it will pass. If you are really concerned at anytime, just a quick check up at the doctors.
