I have a 9 month old baby girl and she was born with Schizencephaly, I have 3 other kids that were born healthy and no one in either family has a brain disorder so genetics is out. I had to deliver her at 36 weeks because she stopped growing and they did not know why or at least that's what they told me. I did some research and this could have come from receiving a vaccine at the time the baby's brain was developing, the only vaccine that I got was the h1n1 shot. I know a lot of women believe that the shot caused them to miscarry or deliver a stillborn baby because the baby stopped growing but does anyone believe that their baby may possibly have an issue due to this shot.

From what I have read, if there is no genetic history it is most likely caused by an infection, infarction, hemorrhage, toxin or mutation... A vaccine falls into most of those categories... I would say the chances are high that what is wrong with your daughter is a result of the vaccine... did they have you take any other medications, or did you get sick at anytime between 5 and 15 weeks?

I'm so sorry that this happened to your daughter . . I could only imagine how difficult it can be. I never had the vaccine myself, but after reading your post I did some searching and I found this link to VAERS which is the vaccine adverse reaction reporting site. It was reported that another woman's baby also developed this and it COULD be caused by the vaccine:

" Report received from Foreign regulator on 14-MAY-2010 (case number: 265228) A pregnant female received a PANVAX injection, 1 dose, 1 time, intramuscular on 06-Oct-2009. The mother was at 18 weeks pregnant at the time of receiving PANVAX vaccination. At 29 weeks, the fetus was diagnosed with microcephaly, bilateral schizencephaly and an absence of the cavum septum pellucidium with underlying septo optic dysplasia. At that point of time, the fetus was still considered to be perfectly healthy. The Medical Specialist believed these events occurred around 18 weeks of the pregnancy. On 08-Jan-2010, 32 weeks of pregnancy, the mother had a still birth (See WAVES Case ID 2010023201 for the mother''s case). The clinical description is consistent with Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome which is caused by deletion of the short arm of chromosome 4. The abnormality is inherited or de novo mutation early in gestation. The reporter considered events possibly related to the suspect drug, PANVAX. This case was reported serious due to life-threatening status. The company considered events possibly related to the suspect drug, PANVAX. Information derived from this AE report does not change the current safety profile of the product."

I had the shot while i was pragnant and now my son who is 2 and a half... is being checked for ADHD,OCD,RLS possibly autism spectrum disorder... and the list goes on and on he has not slept a whole night since he has been born.My mother wants me check out if this could be related from the H1N1 shot i also got the flu after i got the shot.I dont trust anything these days today we are working with casa and about 5 other dr to help our little guy who screams and crys all day and night somethings not right this doesent just happen for no reason!! Otherwise thousands and thousands of years ago other kids would have had the same thing or there would be more info about whats going on with our children and all these disorders that keep poping up all of a sudden. Please people open ur eyes its the food we eat its the medication we take its the creams and lotions we put on our skin the seep into our blood.Im just saying something needs to be done!! We owe it to our children.

I had the h1n1 vaccine and my daughter is perfectly healthy in every way....actually had her very first fever at 9months. Sometimes things happen that are beyond explanation and we try to blame ourselves for why they happened at all. I highly doubt that the vaccine had anything to do with her medical issues.

Bless your heart...I'm not much help but I had considered getting the H1N1 shot when I was pregnant with my son until I had heard that they hadnt tested it on pregnant women yet and wasnt sure of the effects...I hate that something like this has happened to you and pray for the best for you and your family. God Bless!!!

I am terribly sorry that your baby girl was born this way. She is no differnet then any other child and I know you know this, she just needs a little extra loving and what mommy doesn't enjoy that?! :)
But, this is a reason I do not get any flu shots or H1N1 shots whether pregnant or not! I pray for the best for you and your children! I'm sorry I'm not much help, just thought I would give a few kind words.

I'm so sorry that this has happened to your daughter ♥ have you been able to get a CT or MRI on her to see how much malformation occurred? There is a chance that she will develop normally if there is not too much mutation.
