I have finished my first year of university but quit because I didnt want to go into the stream I was in. I've always wanted to learn a craft like silversmithing/ goldsmithing. But there is nothing that offers this near me. The nearest college is 3 provinces away. My husband won't move and I don't want to leave ky four year old daughter. Do I just forget about it or pursue it? Don't know what to do.

You don't necessarily have to attend a college or university for something like gold/silver smithing. Look into apprenticing to a hobbyist in your area, I'm sure there are some. Put out an ad in your local paper and/or on kijiji.

Something along those lines is also something you can teach yourself to a large extent. Look for online courses and *How To*s. As long as you have the money for materials, which I assume would still be cheaper than a university course, you should be able to teach yourself a fair bit :)
