Do you miss your period straight away?

So, hello. Bit of a weird question but I found no answer from google so I thought I'd try my luck here. I am not trying to get pregnant but I just switched to a new birth controll pill. 1 day before the "no substance" pills I had sex with my boyfriend. So I've always had problems with bleeding almost constantly, hence the new pills, but this time there's been nothing. It says this could happen but out of curiosity, after just one or 2 days after sex, if pregnant, will you miss the period? Thanks for any answers :-)

Yes, you could. The reason for a period is to remove the lining of the uterus that has built up expecting a fertilised egg. If there is no fertilised egg, the lining of the uterus is useless and therefore sheds itself and becomes your period. If the egg is fertilised then the uterus lining is functional.

HOWEVER, having said that, you just switched pills. Anything could happen. Your period may be up and down for a bit. You probably should have used an additional form of contraception (this is where condoms come in handy) or refrained from having sex until you could sort it out if you weren't wanting to get pregnant.

Basically, the rule is, any time you have sex, you could get pregnant, and contraception is never 100% effective anyway. I am pretty sure the effectiveness is even lower when you are swapping and changing pills.
