My daughter was diagnosed with acid reflux at 2 weeks old. She threw up formula everytime she ate so I had to give her cereal in her bottles ever since. That helped alot but I have noticed If she eates stage three gerber Lasagna it kicks in and she throws up and is really crabby for a few hours. I do have a prescription for Malox for her and it helps some. Im just curios does Acid Reflux ever go away or will she have it forever?

My daughter had it when she was an infant. I changed her formula to Enfamil A.R. and had her sleep slightly inclined, it went away at about 3 and a half months.

Thanks for all your input. I will make sure she gets nothing tomato like which seems to trigger it the most. Hopefully it slows down some. I'm just worried that in the long term, the damage the acid from the puke will do to her asophougus.

It goes away. It's hard to tell when though as some toddlers still have it and it's not fun. My kid grew out of it at 8 months so hopefully your baby grows out of it soon. Lasagne could be a bit acidy too though xx

My son had Acid Reflux, he would cry every time I fed him a bottle. I had to sit him up all the time and give him meds. I started putting cereal in his bottle, it seemed to help alot. The Acid Reflux went away when he was about 8 or 9 months. I would stay away from the Lasagna.... she system probably isnt ready to handle it yet

My daughter's reflux thankfully was gone once she was sitting up and eating solids. The tomato sauce in the lasagna has acid in it, so that is probably what's bothering her. I'd stay away from it for now.

usually once baby is sitting up on their own it settles downs abit. My daughter had sever reflux and was on maximum dosage of 3 different type of medication as well as tube fed for awhile till her throat stopped ulcerating! Her reflux settled down by 9 months thank god!

Fortunately yes! My son was diagnosed early on as well and by his first birthday and it pretty much gone. He does not have to take daily medication anymore and only has flare ups every now and then.

from what i have read it does go away, some earlier than others.

but just thinking about it, even as adults or older children everyone has a food or beverage that just does not sit right with them , or gives them heart burn, diarrhea or stomach ache. so if you have identified a food that is giving her a hard time. stop feeding it to her. if something put you in pain and made you cranky , you wouldnt eat it. your daughter shouldnt have to either :)
