think about it....... do you touch yourself? are you ashamed of it? dont make them feel bad about it, simply explain that they need to be carful not to hurt themselves and to NEVER let anyone else touch them there. self exploration is very natural and you will only make them feel bad about themselves. we are sexual creatures and we are befor we born. as long as they understand not to expose themselves in public and to keep clean and wash their hands befor they touch your face lol im sure they as well as you will be fine. as a mother of 3 and a human female its natural,

It's not a problem, it's exploration. I would suggest not scorning them for it but encouraging that it only be done in private. Turning it into something negative could cause body issues later in life...

this is completely normal, my toddler did it, she used to put objects in her diaper, then by the time when i was teaching her things, she stopped. It's normal it's just a phase kids go through

this is very normal it their way of finding out what their oarts feel like and what they do. i would just try to speak to them about when and where it is appropirate to do something ofthat sort.
i hope this advise helps.

It's just sensory exploration, like one sock on one sock off. Using their hand feels different than an object. They are just little kids, I would just make sure they understand that touching themselves is something to keep private.

this topic of conversation has just answered my own question about my daughter. i am going to try some of the things other people have said. thankyou for your help

My two year old just recently started doing this at first I would get mad at her but then I just sat down and explained to her that it was not nice to touch herself down there when other people were in the room.

Its normal... All kids do it! My son included. My son tries to take his diaper off all the time, and he does sometimes... its not a big issue, just as long as they arent doing it in public.

My little boy is two and we tell him he can touch himself when he's in the bath or his room. It's just s sensation kids like to feel. Being toddlers, they don't know what it is it just makes them feel good. I wouldn't worry, my boy will be 3 in March and we've talked to his doctor, she said for us not to worry. I hope this helps.

Its normal. my daughter wasnt big on it, but my son is. And i simply told him it was not nice to touch his weiner in public. if he wanted to check it out he needed to go in his room or the bathroom or he would get a time out. I didnt tell him it was bad because its not. Just that showing everyone your privates is not polite. This has helped. And he doesnt really mess with it anymore except at bed time when he gets his pullup on.
