Im trying to get into school but I dont exactly have the money to do it all on my own and I dont have anyone who can help me. Does anyone know anything about student loans and how to get one? Im a single mother of 1 and I just want to get in school and get my life together so I can support and provide for my son on my own without the help of anyone.

FAFSA is all you need to do, unless the school you're planning to go to has their own financial aid form (which you would do in addition to the FAFSA - the FAFSA is always required) Have you started applying to schools yet? When you apply for admission, if you include each school you're applying to on your FAFSA, they will all send you letters back with what kind of financial aid they will offer you and you can select the best package from what you receive. Honestly, if I had it all to do over again, I would personally recommend starting at a community college and then transferring - it would have cut out about $20,000 in debt for me, and I started college 12 years ago - prices have gone up so much since then. If there's any other advice you're looking for, feel free to let me know. I've been through the financial aid process more than once, plus have helped others with getting their financial aid situated. It's not just getting the aid - it's making sure that what you're spending, you will be able to repay with the salary you're earning when you graduate. That's something I didn't really understand my first time around (when I was 18) and I've been regretting some of the choices ever since.

Thanks! I applied for finacial aid through FAFSA... I just wasnt sure if there were other ways that were more easy or not, or if there was anything else I needed to do.

You need to go to the FAFSA website to see if you qualify for financial aide first off. Then if you do not generally a loan will be offered to you and you accept through your school each semester. If you need any help make sure to contact your financial aide office because they can take you through all the steps you need. I would actually strongly suggest contacting your financial aide office for the school you have been accepted into because each school is different and will be able to offer you the best help. Good luck!
