just wondering if anyone knew of a good workout that works fast after having their baby....? my baby boy is now a month old but i can't stand the extra weight i still have, especially in the stomach area. i want to get rid of it asap!! please let me know if anyone has any suggestions... thank you so much! :)

As a PT and gym instructor I would like to say please dont listen to people when they say to target tone an area! You have to loose the fat from the area first or you will just make it look bigger! You need to focus on 1.DIET eat healthy and drink ALOT of water. 2. Exercise - depending on how you delivered you need to do cardio work and strength training. Not one or the other but both. Pilates is a great class for toning and strength and burning fat so is def worth a shot, just remeber that it will get easier the more you do it - I teach it and love it! And please remeber that you took 9 months to put on the weight so there is really no quick fix to get into shape quick, none that is healthy. You are much more likely to maintain weight lose if you loose it slowly, 1kg a week is a healthy amount. And dont be too hard on yourself it has only been a month and look at the incredible job your body did to bring your beautiful bub into the world! Hope this helps. xx

I did Jennifer Nicole Lee's "Fabulously Fit Moms, Lower Body Burn" It works wonders. Pop that Dvd in 3-4 times a week, combine that with a good meal plan and you will drop pant sizes quickly. I found that I never had the time to go to a gym (or a car to get me there) so I had to do everything on my own at home. After trying many workout dvd's this is the one that worked for me. Remember, you have to sweat and be uncomfortable for those lbs to come off. No sissy workouts will do. This one is easy to follow but works you good. I got mine on Amazon.com. Try it, you will love it.

Hi, when I had my first baby, the first thing that I did was to wear a binder, although I delivered through C - section. Although I have learned later from co-workers that they also wore binders even if they delivered normally. I also slept on my stomach for about two weeks, that is to help the uterus go back to its original position. I think you can start with aerobic and cardiovascular exercises, like walking. Then gradually add muscle specific exercises. If you want to lose fat on your abdominal area, then do some abdominal crunches, rowing, leg raising, etc which targets the upper and lower abs. And by the way, breastfeeding really helps a lot to lose weight fast. ;-)

The best workout I've done it aquatic kickboxing. It's a great workout but doesn't make me sore the next day. Swimming is also great because it's cardio and resistance together.
Also if you eat 5-6 small meals a day your metabolism will kick into high gear and burn fat.

Hi there, I am new to the circle and saw your post... if you are near a YMCA and able to attend it, there is a great class using a kettlebell. It is sometimes called a russian kettlebell. Also, I did pilates and lost the 50 pounds I gained plus a few extra pounds! Hope this helps and good luck!
