My doctor said they're supposed to get mad being on their bellies. It encourages them to do something about it and start rolling and crawling. I don't let her get too upset, but I let her be mad for a bit being on the floor. Sometimes she just lays there and it doesn't bother. Other times, she cries the whole time. Today, she spent about 3 minutes with her head and shoulders raised without getting upset. She's 9 1/2 weeks old.

my boy hated tummy time so what i did to get him to do some tummy time was i would lay on the couch and lay him on my chest! it helped lots and now at 9.5 months old he likes his time on his tummy :) also i would bend my knees and move them slowly from one side to the other!! good work out for you and baby gets to be on the tummy and nice and close to your heart ;) hope this helps

hi my daughter was exactly the same!! She hated tummy time from word go.... i was so worried that she would get a flat head from being on her back all the time and that she wouldnt crawl. She is now 14 months old and not only did she crawl but shes is not running all over the place. she really only became a little more interested in tummy time once she was ready to crawl. your daughter will do it when she is ready, all children are different. I was also told that you could roll a towel up into a sausage shape and prop it under theri chest then as their muscles get stronger take it away. goodluck

My youngest daughter was the same way. She screamed every time that I put her on her stomach. I just kept doing it for a total of 20 minutes broken up everyday. Eventually she got so she liked it. I think she was almost 5 months before she decided it wasn't horrible. She is 7 months now and LOVES to be on her stomach. Just stick it out and she will stop being so unhappy.

I was so worried about this. My son hated tummy time and he used to get so upset when I would try to make him do it. My pediatrican keep telling me to push it. I finally gave up with it and was so worried he wouldn't crawl b/c he hated tummy time. Well he started crawling at 8 months and he is all over the house and pulling himself up on things. Don't worry too much about it, I think they just do things when their ready.

I honestly don't think any baby likes tummy time. I didn't even really start tummy time until about 13wks with my daughter. I've heard that propping them up on a boppy pillow helps b/c then they can look around more easily. Just keep persevering. If she'll stay on her tummy for say... 2min w/o crying that is good :) And only do tummy time once a day for now so that she at least gets used to it but you don't overdo it. Eventually work up to about 5min (as long as she isn't screaming bloody murder) and then so on and so forth. And make sure that you are laying onthe floor as well where she can see your face and talk/sing to her.

She may not ever like tummy time but once she rolls over there isn't much need for tummy time, just floor time.
