Down to one nap ?

My 10month old has a really good night sleep pattern and had a good nap pattern of two naps a day with very little fight when it was nap time. In the last week she has started fighting the naps. We have started trying only giving her one nap a day but im worried she is to young? I have read most children go down to one nap around a year or over.

when did your baby go down to one nap a day?

My son is 10 months old also and has been on just one nap for months now. I try and try and he still fights way too hard. Seldomly he'll go through a whole day without any nap at all. It concerns me too since he is so young I thought he would need more rest; however, he does sleep a long time through the night, about 10 hours through. Both my kids were like that, they slept longer at nights without really needing much rest in the day. Have you tried to lay down and take a nap with her? I find that my son rests better if I attempt to take a nap with him, but most of the time I'll just lay there until he sleeps, then put him in the crib and get up to do the things I need to do.

my daughter is 10 months also and most the time she only takes 1 nap a day, depending on the activity we did that day, it does not worry me at all, I figure she will sleep when tired. And the times she fights sleeping I always give her 30 minutes to fuss it out and she never last 15. How long are u giving your 10 month old time to wine down? And are you going from an active activity to nap time, if so try a story and music thats soft so that he/she isnt going down wired.

That's about the age my son started transitioning from two to one nap. It's hard, because they need the sleep, but they don't get tired soon enough to fit in two naps! I had to just let him sleep when he got tired...for a while that meant he slept through lunchtime every day, and I had to feed him in the afternoon instead. But now he goes down consistently after lunch, and he's a happy boy!

do whatever feels right... follow your baby. If she is only wanting one nap a day adn is still sleeping well at night then let her :) my daughter is 17months old and has only just gone down to 1 sleep a day but my neice is now 18months old and has been only having one nap a day since we was around 10 months. all children are different just follow their cues. :)

My boy is 8 months and only has 1 nap a day and has for the past month or so! He just has too much energy and since he went down to 1 nap he only wakes once in the night now! Different babies progress at different rates! Maybe she has just decided that she only wants 1 nap a day! try it and see how she is! you never know! might work!

My LO used to take 2 solid naps each day until he started crawling/walking which was about 10 months. Then he was just too busy to want to nap. He would usually conk out on his own for about 2 hours. Some days he will take one 2 hour nap, other days he'll fight and usually only take a couple 20 minute naps. I find he usually sleeps longer when he's going through a growth spurt or teething. Hope that helps!
