i have been getting cramping in my tummy for like 15 hours and was just wondering if this could be a sign of early labour? it's very on/off and sometimes i get the pain a couple in 20 mins or 1 in an hour, so very irregular.

Great thanks for your help. I did call the hospital and they said because it's gotten that little bit worse since last night that it could be early labour but have also said it could be the preparations before early labour and could last a few days. Also they said it may also be Braxton Hicks so I just have to wait it out. Thanks for your help though.

It sounds like it might be braxton hicks contractions. If your stomach feels like it tightens up for a bit and then relaxes, and also is very irregular, then that's probably it. They are basically practice contractions to get your body ready. I had these with both of my kids. I'd check with your doctor anyway, just to be safe. If you have cramping that's painful or within 10 minutes of eachother, definitely call the OB nurse on call at the hospital. Hope this helps!

I would say that they are Braxton Hicks contractions... they kinda hurt, but are very irregular.. They are also VERY common. Out of my 3 kids, I had them with the last 2!
