Eating Solids

My daughter is 6 months old. She has been eating cereal since she was about 4 1/2 months old (once a day) I recently started her on veggies. I give her them once a day. I was just wondering if it would be alright if I gave her cereal in the morning and veggies at supper time? Or how many times a day I should give her solids and when do i introduce fruits.

When my daughter was six months I would give my daughter her bottle and then i would give her either her veggies or fruit. So that i was sure she was getting enough of her formula, and then she was able to eat solids if she was still hungry. I would give her cereal in the morning mixed with fruit. For Lunch and Dinner I would usually give her veggies. GOOD LUCK!!

Sounds like that would be just fine at 6 months. Really, you can be taking her lead as to how much solids she can have. Offer it morning and evening, and she'll either take it or refuse. To make sure she's still getting enough milk, make sure you offer milk before solids. You can introduce fruits any time now as well. My son loved bananas at that age!

Cereal in the morning and veggies at night would probably be great for her right now. That's what my son was doing at about that age. He always had a taste of applesauce mixed into his cereal. Other than the applesauce, I didn't introduce fruits until about a month after he was eating veggies really well. And she will let you know when she is ready to add lunch to the menu. My son was just doing breakfast and dinner solids, until one day at daycare he saw the other kids eating lunch and had a fit because he wanted lunch too (he was about 7 months).

Thank you for ur help.....she tends to be hungry more and i know how milk makes them a little chunky so i just want to make sure i'm not giving her to much solids

Feed her when she's hungry and add more solids if you want. Stay with Veggies a long time before begnning the fruit. Babies tend to dislike Vegggies if they are introduced to fruits too soon after the veggies. you can always mix the fruit and vegtables together if this happens. Keep in mind texture has more to do with what your baby will eat than flavor at ths point.

I started mixing a little fruit with the cereal when my baby was about 4 1/2 months old and she is now 5 1/2 months old and I am giving her both fruits and veggies 1-2 times a day. But I know some moms that feed their baby food 3 times a day.. So i guess it depends how hungry your baby is. haha
