Is it strange to be so emotional after breastfeeding? Ever since I weaned my daughter I'm extremely emotional. Nothing is sad and I feel like crying. What is wrong with me?

Hormones! I was like that when i stopped, I started to feel more stable after my first period came and went. Your prob feeling abit of guilt aswell and it was a huge part of both you lives so its normal to feel sad when it comes to an end.

This is my first time ever sharing with anyone outside of my husband and close friends and family...and I have read so many posts about women going through exactly what I am. I have recently stopped breastfeeding my little guy after a long 8 week struggle. I can not stop crying. I feel like the biggest failure, like I am letting him down some how. I know I gave him st least 2 months of breastmilk but I wanted so badly to give him more time. There were just so many other issues with it, like..he could not latch properly even after meeting with a lactation dpecislust for 4 weeks straight. He was slways falling asleep at the breast and I got s yeast infection in my nipples 2 times in 4 weeks. I was always crying and i know he could feel my frustration. I have 3 other kiddos who needed my attention as well and I felt like I was neglecting them in a lot of ways because I was always nursing and wanted so badly for breastfeeding to work out. I just want the guilt to go away. My little guy does seem happy and satisfied now but I can't seem to get over the sadness I feel. :(

My daughter stopped at 7 months and I was crying all the time! Feel proud that you did it in the first place no matter how long it went on. I didnt breast feed my first and now I regret it every time i think about it. As far as hormones it does get better, just takes a little bit of time.

Thanks so much fore the support. My daughter is 3 months and my milk started to dry up on its own so I didn't have much choice....

I was the exact same way when I weaned my daughter at 15 months. I was an oxytocin junky and then when it was gone, I was a mess. It took a couple of weeks, but eventually, my mood evened out again. You'll be okay!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you.. How old is your daughter?

My second daughter went on strike at 6 1/2 months and well that was it...

That was really hard especially considering my first daughter b/f until she was 11 months old.

Now I am having trouble with my 6 month old son..

Wishing you the best... sending you BIG HUGS!

It's probably just hormones..I felt really guilty when I weaned at 4 months. Hang in there!
