My son is just over two weeks old. I wanted to breastfeed him badly but due to me having emergency Surgery days after my c-section I was to ill to keep up with it and had problems with him latching. As for Enfamil A+ and Enfamil is there much difference? They put my son on Enfamil A+ in hospital and since then that what we have bee buying. It is pretty expensive and we are looking for ways to save some money. Is there a difference between the two? if I was to switch to just Enfamil or switch between the two of them would it cause any problems with his tummy/stool?

(My son ws a big boy 10 pounds 10 ounces so his formula intake is a lot.. He eats around 3 to 4 ouncs every 2 to three hours)

I don't know if there is a specific difference between the two but we always used Enfamil Lipil for both of my boys after I stopped breastfeeding because it seems like the best (but at $25/tub very expensive). When I asked my doctor about it he said we could use any formula (even generic) as long as it was iron fortified. As far as how well your son will tolerate a formula, I say the only way to know is to try it. We tried a few other formulas (similac, regular enfamil, and some others) and they seem to give my son more constipation/gas so we always went back to the Lipil. If you want to save some money I would experiment a little and see what he does well with. Many formula brands will send you a sample tub if you sign up for it online.
