I am one of those crazy people who keeps my used pregnancy test until later in the day. Well, this week I took one thinking I was definitley pregnant. But when I woke up and took it, a min later it was negative. I sat it down, got my son ready for school and forgot about it. Later that day I found it and it was extremely positive. I have never in my thousands of pregnancy test ever had one change its answer! I took another the next day and it was negative. I am wondering if anyone else has ever had a freaky test like this before?

Yeah as a POASaholic I've seen that happen! U aren't suppose to read a test after ten minutes. Usually they are only accurate between three and ten minutes. But I've had negative ones turn positive and vice versa. The mystery of why pregnancy test go wonky after ten minutes is interesting. But peeonastick.com has all sorts of information about HPT's.

I watched the one on my last post we discussed, carefully. Tis one i took several days ago. I always have low hcg levels early in pregnancy. I have never had such strange tests as i have this week.

I read a review of scientists experimenting over all the HPTs on pregnant women, and one said after testing the cheaper brands of tests, they were more accurate after the 10 minutes the manufacturer suggested.

The tests I have taken in the past have said to not read the answer until at least 3 minutes have passed and not to read it after 10 minutes have passed. They also have said that a positive test will still read positive no matter the time frame.

the last test you took, did you wait long enough to read it? If you are very newly pregnant you could have a false negative too, if your HCG levels aren't high enough, that could also explain the first one testing positive later also

I hope it's not another miscarriage. It was a normal period, maybe it was just a wonky test.

That is freaky! I have heard some women can get one last period. Or an early miscarriage- which I hope is not.

Check the info sheet that came with the pregnancy test. A pregnancy test would be invalid that long after you pee on it.
