Family and fights

I need some help. My family has always been close knit like the brady bunch or something but lately (within the past few years) I have been unable to get the same connection i had with them then. My kids are 6 and 4 (the 2 that live with me) and they haven't been seeing my family as much as they did before, my family is not talking to me like they did before and i just dont think they realized up until now that i am not the same person i was 7 years ago when i moved out. I am not used to fighting with my family, besides my siblings here and there, and i don't know how to handle this situation. I recently was explaining some of the things that happened within those 7 years and how crappy it made me feel that i had to do it alone and my mom got upset and took it as i was blaming her. i just wanted a little understanding or a sympathetic ear. i will not apologize if i was not in the wrong and have already apologized for making her feel like it was her fault. i dont want to fight, i have been fighting for 5 years now and i just want a time out from all of the extra stress and drama. Please if you have a moment, give me your opinion on how i should go about this.... Thank you!Raecheal

Sweety I'm in the same boat, but with my hubby's family. I'm not use to their fighting and bicoring, and I don't want my kids around it to get use to it. I recently told him and them that I have had enough of the cussing and yelling around my kids, and until they decided they were going to work arangments out not to do that around us, then the kids and I weren't going to come around. Well needless to say that didn't work out to well, because now they are call me crazy, vendictive, and a bit*^ for keeping the kids away. People only see what they want to see, and if they can't see what matters to you and your children then they really don't seem to care that much.
