Family troubles...Advice please??

Hey all, been a long while since I have been on here. I just had an issue I figured I would post on here and see if anyone has any thoughts.... My mother hates my husband and has not talked to me or my children in two months. Let me explain her reasoning. My husband and I have been together for 3 years. For 2 1/2 of those years, he was an alcoholic. He made bad decisions, and was never home. About 6 months ago, I was at the point I had had enough and was getting ready to leave. However, he made a miraculous turn a round. He has been alcohol free for 6 months, he has been home faithfully every day, the relationship he has with our children is absolutely amazing and our relationship couldn't be any better! So, with this being said, I understand my Mom's view, but my point is, if he has turned his life around and has become an amazing parent and husband, then why would I leave? Why would I take my kids away from their father when they are sooo happy? I quit trying to contact my mom, but my kids are heartbroken that she won't talk to them. We have tried calling and texting, but she gives no reply. Any advice on what to do? Keep avoiding contact or try and fix it?

Sometimes you just need to step away and let them come to you. It's her loss for not wanting to be around you and her Grandchildren.

Maybe write her a letter saying that you understand how she must feel hurt but your husband had turned his life around and when she's ready to have you all back in her life then you would love to hear from her.

Put the ball in her court as they say and stay content in the knowledge that you have done everything you can to keep the relationship, the rest is up to her.

You can't control other people's emotions and reactions to situations so you need to let it go.
