My baby is 81/2 months old and he is suppose to be eating 1-3 meals per day and 1-2 snacks. I have him eating 3 meals . cereal-fruits and veggies, and then veggies again for supper. I am having a hard time getting him oon real food and also trying to make his baby food. I don't know how it is possible for me to get him on snacks and have him eat mor ethen just fruits and veggies without him "gagging" Any suggesstions on a simple way of doing this?

Sounds like your doing everything right. He is just picky and that's okay! With meats for my daughter I have to mix it with fruit and then she eats it. I know it sounds gross but hey if she eats it then i'm happy with it. Yup you can give them yogurt at least that is what my pedi told me. There is some called Yobaby for infants at the store.

The book can explain it better than me on how to exactly make the food correctly.

Okay , so this is my thing I have him on store bought baby food fruits and veggies ,which he LOVES . I am now trying to make his baby food I steam it and blend it until it is smooth to make it exactly like his store bought stuff ,but he gags and gags . I ahve also trien him on mixed blend of baby food you know the ones with meat, rice, and veggies ? And he gags for that I don't know if it's the textire or what? BUT I was told by the nurse to introduce new textures sooner rather than later or he will have a harder time as he gets older. SO I am just wondering how I can get him through this ? Sorry for all the questions, but it is nice to have some advice .As for yogurt I ahd NO idea I could give him anything like that yet ..

Your welcome :) I hope it helps. I love the book! It even has good recipes for us! Have you tried baby yogurt? Plus with veggies it takes up to 8 times for them to try it before they like it. I had to keep trying and trying with my daughter on her greens before she finally took to them.

Thank you so much for your help. It has been really hard and being a first time young mom I'm scared he is going to be on baby food for life.. I will have to get that book because I have been blending real food to make his baby food and he absolutely HATES it I thought it was the same as store bought ! Hopefully things start looking up .

I suggest get the book "decepitively delicious" by Jessica Seinfeld. It covers how to puree food and disguise veggies into food so that our picky eaters will eat them. You can get a copy just about anywhere. Check out amazon.com

My daughter loved the yogurt melt snacks by Gerber she could not get enough of them. I gave her those whenever I needed to get something done and she wouldn't let me to occupy her time. Good luck to you :)
