i know its kind of strange, but my son never ate fruit! he is 10 now and still does NOT eat any kind of fruit. i believe it is more of a texture thing for him. the only time in his life he had done so was a very frozen smoothie made with frozen fruit, vanilla yogurt & juice just enough so it would mix.
i wish i would have realized it earlier because i wondered why when introducing foods anytime i tried fruits it was another set-back. all kids are different. i just mention it because no one said it to me ever as a possiblity & it took me until he was 15 months to realize it was the issue. I realized when he would spit out each chunk of fruit in his yogurt. now he only eats vanilla. so here is to non-fruit eating kids, hope it isnt the issue for you but if it is there are others :)

I don't know how old she is, but with my daughter when she was one year old she wouldn't eat fruit until I mixed it into her oatmeal with some cinnamon and she loved it :) also, I used to buy the fruit in jars and freeze it, just not in the glass cause the jar can break (which happened to me cause I had a blonde moment!)

If you get real fruit and puree it you can freeze it in ice cube trays so you only have a small amount. Not as much wasted. You can freeze it for a few months. Super Baby Food is a fantastic book. It tells you everything you need to know about freezing baby food.

thanks lara, now that you mention it, i do recall her eating watermelon chunks. Maybe Ill try feeding her fruit cut up etc. see if she will eat it that way. The wierd thing is, she will eat the fruit rice cereals, but if i mix the bananas etc, into regular rice cereal, she wont eat it! I guess cutting fruit up to give to her would also keep my husband and I eating better! Im just amazed with payton though, she wont eat fruit but LOVES vegetables! LOL.

i figured i would buy a small jar of baby fruit to try her to see if she like it, it was only 60 cents, rather than buy fruit, puree it and freeze it. My freezer didnt have a lot of room with all the rest I have made. But rather than buy a jar of fruit again, just wondered if i could freeze it. It seems to be that its each to their own discression. The forums that i've read seems to be split between "yes" and "no". I think Ill call my doctor to ask. Thanks for your responses though! (kayla, she is only 7 1/2 months)

Just scoop some out into a tiny bowl like 1 tablespoon or something and put the jar back in the fridge.
