My stepchildren have been lying a lot lately. I've tried grounding them, but that doesn't seem to help. What do you suggest?

have you asked why they fib?how old are they? is it when/if they see their bio mum? sometimes there's reasons why children lie

for me i have 2 stepsons, the oldest is always fibbing to his mum in order not to get told off, i.e he's not aloud to call me mum but he wants to, so he'll lie to bm.

what we do is explain that if your fibbing and we find out later, you'll be trouble, but if you tell me now you wont be. gives them the chance to come clean without being shouted at. it does work for us.

I have a stepdaughter and she tends to fib to her father in order to get more of something. If i ask her to read she will say she does but when asked about what she read she can't tell me. I'm not sure what this means really. I was thinking maybe it's for attention.
