We started finger foods tword the end of 6 months, we started with "teething biscuits" and went from there, some more of his favorites where: French fries with the crunchy ends bitten off, chunks of bread roll, BANNANA, and those puffy things Gerber makes... Just watch her close to make sure she doesn't choke.... Since we let my son start so early and try such a variety of things at 11 months he can now eat just about anything no problem, even stuff like everlasting gobstoppers, gumdrops, toast, and more.. So I say go for it and good luck.

Gerber sells toddler food and one of them that my nephew really likes is the veggie puffs and the yogurt bites. you can try these. He is also 6 mos. and just started trying finger foods also.
