Hello everyone,

My name is michele, i am due this Saturday, July 18th. I was just wondering if it was normal for the stomach to be extremely hard but feel no pain along with it? Is this contractions or am i just worrying too much?

Hi Michele. They sound like contractions to me. They could be Braxton Hicks if they don't do anything, but if they get regular and stay that way for awhile you may want to go get checked. I have 4 kids, and my last 2 I had contractions like that with (my 3rd was a preemie) and with my 4th baby I never had any pain until he was actually born!

it's more then likely braxton hicks. Your body is trying to prepare itself for labor. Talk to your doctor but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about :)

Congrats!!

It can also be braxton hicks which some can feel more as discomfort than pain being so far along I'm sure you'll be in to see you doctor soon and then I would ask

Does your stomach get extremely hard and then kinda loosen up? My stomach was getting really hard I didn't really ever feel it loosen up too much. But i was having contractions. I didn't realize it til I was further dialated. I never had any pain with them. I didnt' really have too much pain (at least not what I expected) until I was almost a 5-6. Hope this is helpful.
