Hi everyone, I am a first time mom of a two week old and I am getting really upset and discouraged at times because my daughter will fall asleep and relax on my boyfriends belly while he rocks her in our recliner. It's usually after I feed her and she will be content but then get fussy so I try everything from walking around to soothing her by rubbing her back. She calms down for a few moments but then instantly gets fussy again. I choose to not rock her in the recliner because it's old and the cushion sinks and you can't get up while holding her. I feel like she isn't comfortable with me or doesn't love me. I know it's probably silly but it's killing me inside and I know my boyfriend feels good about himself because everytime I hand her to him and she stops crying he makes a point to ask me what is wrong with me.

My daughter was always able to relax with my husband more as well. At two weeks old, your babe feels happiest when she's eating. When she is with you, she can smell food and may fuss because she thinks she needs to be eating. When she's with her dad she's happy given the "out if sight, out if mind" theory. I know my daughter just wanted to eat and eat and eat at that age- it was tiring, all I did was feed her.
