Why isn't your partner or the baby's father around to help you?
I guess you live in the country and have to near a major hospital, surely there is someone who could spend a couple of days with you.

I know how you feel, I was three days late with my first child staying at home where I literally had no one but my dog. My fiancé was out of town for work and I was waiting for my mom to come into town to be with me, when my mom showed up she made me walk a lot. I think in three days I walked a total of like 5 miles just window shopping at the mall. On my third day I woke up @ 1:30am having contractions. Walk and let gravity and your body do the work for you.

Breaking your waters when you are not ready to go into labour is a hazard for your baby. It increases the risk of strangulation by the umbilical cord, and also increases the risk of a distressed baby. Wait until you are in labour and THEN ask the doctor to do it if the waters haven't yet broken naturally.

You are probably feeling really anxious about it breaking, but don't rush it, it could cause more harm to your baby. I was 40 weeks and 1 day and my water broke literally right before the doc was going to break it. I'm glad we didn't break it and she came naturally and quickly.

Being bored isn't a reason for them to induce you or break your waters. Are you in the hospital or still at home just bored?
The best thing to help get things moving is to walk. Let gravity do it's magic and get moving.

So this is about being bored? Honestly, when your baby is ready to come, it will come. Being bored is not reason enough not to wait. Read a book.

Why are you so desperate to break your waters? Like I said, it doesn't mean you are in labor. Some people's waters can break and they then have to get induced because it's not safe for the baby.
I know it's frustrating this end of the pregnancy but it's so much better for the baby to wait until it's ready.
Your due date can be out by 2 weeks so you may not be 40 weeks yet.

Probably not if you aren't already in labour. But honestly, you will go into labour when baby is ready.

There isn't. You don't have to break your waters to go into labor though. I was well and truly in labor with all of mine and had to get my waters broken at the hospital all 3 times.
