How much was you LO eating at around the 8 week mark? My DS is 9 weeks today, and is up to 5-6 oz of formula every 3-4 hours. I'm scared she's eating too much, but she's STARVING at feeding times!

I would say my baby ate about 24-32 ounces a day for a long time, until we introduced solids. She's fine, if you're not forcing her, she's eating what she wants. Gots lots of growing to do!

My ped recommend I start feeding my daughter rice cereal around 8 weeks old because she was drinking formula like crazy and it did not seem to satisfy her hunger. She was gaining weight quickly and was on the 95% percentile for growth (weight and height) at her age from newborn to around 2 years, which she continues to be for her height, but not her weight at age 4 (almost 5). she had constipation problems as well, which completely subsided with potty training. She has no food allergies either. Some babies just need to eat more than others. good luck!

Babies wont over awesome thin gthey r born with. Glutony is a learned behavior for the most part. My son started on solid food at 8 weeks bc he was drinking 10 oz of formula n still wanted more. He got so contipated that he bleed when he did go. I'd had to give him diluted prune/apple juice from gerber. You might want to try givng her rice cereal. Just a table spoon or so of the soupy stuff to start with. My son is now 17 months old, no food allergies, n he's not overweight. When they start running the really loose the formula weight. She may be going thor a growth spurt like Abigail said. My son will eat non stop for weeks then a month ago i had to fight to get him to eat a whole meal during the whole course of the day. As long as she looks healthy n seems satisfied she's fine.

Dont try rice cereal with fruit in it...n oatmeal n other baby jar foods are too soon. Start small with plain rice cereal. Take about 1 tablespoon rice powder with 2 tablespoons water. And b prepared with a camera!Good luck to you.

babies won't over eat, they stop when full. Babies tend to have random spurts where it seems they are eating nonstop because they are growing. I wouldn't be too worried about it :)
