my 4 1/2 month old is on enfamil ar formula bc of reflux probs. it has helped, of course has occasional spit ups but not as bad. wanting to start solids in a month or two and wondering if i should stay on this formula or change? maybe to the enfamil gentlease bc of his fussiness and sometimes gas. dont know if being on the enfamil ar formula and starting rice cereal will be too much?? and if i should switch to the gentlease should i put a little bit of rice in his bottle too or just use as a solid till i go on to the next food choise?? thanks for any help! :) (first time mom :)

my son had a biut of the acid reflux (i breastfeed him tho), but when i had it in the bottle dr told me to add cereal which was rice and keep him sat at a angle for 30 mins so that it would help it stay down.

solid food well start off slow at first find what they like and what keeps them content. my son had a bottle for food so i just mixed everything that is the only way he would eat veggies.

i started with just fruit frist then work to the veggies. and i would stay away from the meat for babies

personally i wouldnt put anything in th ebottle, as far as ive always been told it's regarded as a choking hazard! i agree with guggie, avacado is a brilliant one, or purified veg.just be careful with certain things, banana is regarded quite hard to digest. but i think avacado is a brill pace to start. good luck, and i really hope it helps the reflux, poor little mite! x

yes i would put rice cereal in the bottle or spoon feed. solids help reflux babies to hold down the milk if given before hand

I belive that you can proubly use a verry small amount of baby rice ,not to much cause will cause a bad belly ach !!you do that with the rice and start with veggies ,only give one at a time for about a week that way if he is alergic ,youll know . They have a over the counter ,gas drops for babys sorry i cant rember the name it starts with a m ..I have a 20 1/2 month old boy and all so a 9 yr old boy and a 6 yr old boy !!thats how i did with all my boys !!!my youngest he is kinda the same way ,my pedi put him on lactose free formula and now on lactose free milk vd ...But if your not sure you ,dont be affraid call your dr ...good luck

My daughter 1 & 2 was breast feed however the doctor told me to start solids already because of her weight (17 lb.) she is 6 months old now. Her favorite is sweet potato's (You can try that out she might like it,). I skipped rice cereal. Just ask your doctor what they think is best.

I put the oatmeal ceral in my daughters bottle at 2 weeks the doctor told me to go ahead then I mixed the oatmeat with baby food at 2 months it won't hurt them it will make them sleep through the night and make the full

put rice cereal into the bottle it will help soothe the tummy. also try easing off the bottle a little at a time. sub one bottle for a bland meal like oatmeal

If your son is suffering from reflux I would avoid grains, especially the mixed grains that are sold as baby cereal.

I would start with foods that are easy to digest, fun to touch/see/taste and high in fats and vitamins.

Avacado is a good one.
