I just lost my job last week. I have been working full time since my first child was 1 years old. Now what!?! I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom for the summer and i feel as if i don't even know how! Can i really do this? I am a young parent having my son (6) when i barley was 20. I think that i am excited about it then i get scared. Like i might be Crazy Mom!

dont worry just enjoy the time you have. i am a stay at home mom and this summer i have planned a summer camp for my kids. i looked online for some really neat crafts and fun recipes for us to do together. if you go to any of the kid channels websites they have some ideas. like disney, nick jr, and pbs. also i am going to check out some museums, zoos, and parks. i even found one childrens museum that only cost $3 to get in. if you can keep him busy he wont drive you crazy. trust me i know i have 6. and it will help you out too. give it a try for the summer and if its not for you then go back to work after that. good luck

I just quit my job after three years working there. My son is only 8 months old and I am loving being home with him full time. I am also pregnant with our second, a lil girl, due on our son's first birthday. good luck. hope you enjoy it as much as i am.

I would reccomend finding a local playgroup to get involved with for the summer. Your son will get to socialize with other kids and you will get to talk to other adults.

your not nuts some days the house is gonna shrink get some friends that you can do a baby sitting swap w/ and enjoy the extra snuggle time in the morning take the kids out alot and get lots of pics i thought i would freak out and be board all the time and the kids would drive me nuts but once you realize how clean your house can be it gets better! stay busy dont sweat it you love your kid even after you peal them off of you and lock yourself in the bathroom for mommies quiet time.

lol have no fear! its definitely stressful but you get to bond with your baby! my biggest problem with being a stay at home mom is the fact that my daughter is VERY attached to me! you need to remember to schedule "me" days once in a while! its good to get out and have a break! i hope you have someone that is able to give you a break! my hubby is military and gone a lot! hes also about to deploy! i do miss working but you get to have so much "mom and me" time with your baby and do all kinds of fun things during the day! maybe put him in daycare once or twice a week for 3 or 4 hours and let him socialize with his own age and go pamper yourself and relax! :) also, the "breath and walk away for 5+ minutes" rule is TRUELY your best friend so dont lose yourself! good luck and enjoy this amazing time together! :) lol
