I would say just stay consistent don't give in to any fits. If the child isn't going to harm their selves walk away not letting it bother you. You may find the attention you give is prolonging the fit, or making it worse. I used to do it to my son, just letting him know I don't hear any of the whining and I won't put up with it, when you can talk like a big boy then mommy will listen. It worked wonders, he's now 5 almost 6 and he knows that he has to talk to get me to listen:) I hope this helps good luck!
