Congrats on your engagement!

And I bet your beautiful with or without the baby fat :)

I shop with a great wellness company who have really great weight loss products...many have patented formulas that naturally help to block cravings, and even a yummy bar you eat before working out that helps burn more fat! I know amazing isn't it. lol They also have cleaners and laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, and even healthy snacks like organic cookies made with 10 whole grains. Also, the best vitamins on the market today (recent research shows that vitamins aren't being absorbed but with their new formula these vitamins are being absorbed).

If you'd like some more info just ask would love ot help you out.

I have had 3 kids in 4 years youngest only 6 months old, I found by eating right, and doing two nights of hot yoga a week worked for me. I only go to the 60 min classes so it really doesnt take up to much time.

Hooray to getting married and the beautiful baby!

I workout 4-5 days per week and play soccer. I'm a stay at home mom now BUT this was still my routine when I worked full time. I just recently quit my job to be at home with my little one this past October. He's 15 months old now or soon to be.

How much time do you have to dedicate to working out? I am convinced that you can get a high quality and effective workout in 45-60 minutes using a combination of cardio and resistance training exercises. The best workout series that I have ever done (I'm 26 and I've been into fitness and health since I was 16) is Slim in 6 with Debbie Siebers. If you stick to the program you will not be disappointed. The program does include a dietary guideline as well.

I do not believe in crash diets, low carb diets, etc. I believe that the quickest way to lose weight is to monitor your calories and simply get moving. I would invest in a food scale and a food journal to write down what you’re eating and the intensity and amount of exercise you’ve done for the day. I own a food scale. They're not that expensive and it’s not as time consuming as you think it would be to weigh out your portions. www.calorieking.com is an excellent website to use when you're trying to determine how many calories a food item has.

Weight Watchers is a great program - many people have had success. If you can afford it then give it try. The crux of their program is based on a points system which simply comes down to portion control. If you feel confident enough to monitor your own portions and keep track of what you eat on a daily basis on your own then you don’t necessarily have do Weight Watchers since they’re basically doing the same thing. I know that having a support group helps though which is why the program has been very successful. My mother in law has done it. Keep your eye on the prize girl! Everyone on here has given good suggestions and as long as you can see the way you want to look in your mind’s eye, and you apply yourself you will get there!

Weight Watchers! And working out. I usually walk about 2-3 miles a day. I can take my son and either go with a friend or catch up on phone calls at the same time. I have lost 19 pounds in 2 months ... Only 10 more to go. :)

I have a 18 month old daughter and I went from 158 to 250 pounds when I was pregnant with her. ( Yes, I know...) But now i am weigh 170. I did this by cuttting fast/fried foods, sodas, candy and the like from Monday to Saturday. Sunday was my cheat day. I could eat the whole kitchen on Sunday but I cut the good stuff Monday through Saturday. Then in addition to that, I exercised atleast three times a week. They consisted on either getting on an elliptical walker or doing some good old fashioned weights. At first, during the week, I would drink Slim Fast drinks but I weight plateau at 190 doing that. So I got off the drinks and started counting calories. I would eat vegetables and sugar free jello whenever I was hungry. It takes a lot of discipline to be able to do this, but people close to me can definately see the difference. It makes me wonder how bad I looked weighing 250. I thought I looked alright but maybe I was in denial.

I too am working at getting all of my baby fat off!! I got myself a treadmill and work out about 45 minutes with my ankle weights, after that I do about 60 sit ups. I also make a pot of soup from the soup diet and eat a lot of that. So far I have lost 35 pounds and I have 11 more to go. I do this work out 5 days a week. It seems to be working for me. Good Luck and Congrats:)

Congratulations on the engagement!
I track my calories on thedailyplate.com. It has been quite helpful to see exactly how much I eat in a day. I try to limit myself to 1500 calories a day, but I go over all the time, which is part of the reason I've sort of plateaued in my weight loss. Also, I run 3-4 times a week and go hiking with my family at least once a week. I do yoga and some strength training, but I'm a bit sporadic about it. I've lost about 30 lbs since May and have about 5 lbs to go to get to pre pregnancy weight. I'd like to lose at least 10, though, to get to what I weighed before I was married, but I think I'll be okay if I don't quite get there.

Well first off congrats! Your best bet is to eat plenty of fresh veggies and fruits (these contain healthy sugars to boost your energy, your immune system and your metabolism) don't cut out any food group such as carbohydrates they are essential to a healthy lifestyle you can reduce your intake but don't cut them out. Opt for healthy carbs such as whole grain pastas and breads, brown rice or rice blends, baked, steamed or cooked potatoes in their skins are actually good for you in moderation so long as you skip the full fat sourcream and the bacon bits. Protein is extremely important. There are 8 essential amino acids (that's what makes up protein) that our bodies cannot make. I'm sorry to any vegitarians but, you cannot get them all from beans, nuts and soy there are a few animal proteins that are missing in those products which are essential for a healthy body. Most importantly keep the portions balanced and relatively small. Remember that excercise (even light to moderate) helps a lot. Before I started working (retail) I sat in a desk all day (student) I couldn't loose weight no matter how hard I tried. When I started working I started loosing weight simply because I was walking, lifting all day long 8hrs a day 5 days a week. Even now that I'm working only 20 hrs a week and I'm pregnant I've still slimmed down (just my fat! baby's big, and healthy). So take it easy, get some rest, eat sensibly and get out there, be active!

I just went to see a personal trainer a few weeks ago. She has advised me that I need to do cardio for 40-60 minutes 3 times a week and resistance training (weights, and such) 2 times a week w/ 30 minutes of cardio to get your heart rate pumping. When your working out your heart rate should be up between 145-167 to get in the fat burning zone. Also to follow the Canada food guide. Which for me being between the age of 19-50 is 7-8 servings of vegetables or fruits, 6-7 servings of grain products, 2 milk products and 2 meat and alternative products. Drink plenty of water! You cannot loose weight if you don't drink water! Take your vitamins! Read the labels at the grocery store and limit trans fats! You can go on the canada food guide website and print out your own schedules at www.healthcanada.gc.ca/foodguide Good luck to you!

the only thing i can say that it tried, tested and true is diet and exercise! Eating properly and exercising will work. I did Tae Bo and lost a ridiculous amount of weight. When i couldn't go to a class (which is way more motivating than doing it at home) i went for an hour walk with the babe in a stroller. I hope that you find what works for you! and congrats!!

I gained 45 lbs with my first and tried every exercise class that I could from pilates, yoga, water aerobics and power stroll. After a year of taking three exercise classes a week, I was extremely fit, but had lost no weight. The best thing I can recommend is calorie counting (exercise helps a little but it only does so much). As soon as I started doing that I managed to loose all the baby weight within 5 months. :) I limited myself to 1700 calories a day, but on the days that you have to go over don't feel guilty about it. Enjoy it and start back on the counting the next day :) Also, I wrote down my weight everyday, that way you if you feel like you not loosing anything, you can go back and look at the previous month to see how much weight you have lost. Good luck!!

Congrats on your engagement!

As for the weight, I know just how you feel. My 2nd daughter was just born in Sept and this extra fat is driving me crazy! What I'm doing right now and what I did to lose the 60 lbs I gained with my first daughter is just what your dr says - exercise and eating right. Booooring, I know. But it works. I do cardio for at least 30 mins a day/ 4-5 times a week and have started eating less carbs and NO pre-made processed food. Tons of fresh fruits and veggies and grilled meat. Also I'm on a strict water and coffee only drink diet... okay, so the coffee isn't exactly healthy but I have an infant and a toddler and it's a necessity! I also use one of the little salad plates rather than the big dinner ones and that helps with portion control. If you need some motivation, try watching The Biggest Loser (LOL!) - seeing the "after" pics of those people always makes me want to get a move on!

You have lots of time to lose the wieght and that's great, it gives you plenty of time to do it the right way which will help to keep it off. Good luck!

My best advice is not to stress about it as much and look at the scale everyday. When I was doing that it got me no where. With my daughter Avery I had gained like 20lbs in the first 2 months, then just kept gaining! All the way to 65lbs. It was really hard but after I had her they told me that I had a fluid problem. I was on some lasik for awhile. Which helped with the excess fluid. Other then that you just cut back your meals because your always so busy with the baby. Im sure you'll be able to do it a look beautiful!

Anything working your core, like crunches, helps a lot. Yoga is great too, that's what I did to get rid of my baby fat, I actually got one of those yoga at home dvds and after you do it so many times, you don't even need the dvd anymore because you memorize the stretches lol. Walking is great to, you can never walk too much. Also, excercising by using your baby as a "weight" is great too, because the baby has fun at the same time. That's how my husband stays in shape, he grabs up our 10 month old and does curls and bench presses with her! It's really cute lol. Good luck!

I'm not sure how much time you have or if you can get away for a couple hours here or there... but if you can, join an aerobics, pilates, or yoga class. Or if you are comfortable with it, join a pole dancing class. It's the best workout and I've always felt so great afterwards. The pole dancing class may sound a little risky but it's a lot of fun and you meet a lot of cool people when you're there. Plus, it also helps get all your muscles tighter..everywhere. So it will boost your sex life as well.

It's tough getting the baby weight I know! The best piece of advice I can give you is to join Weight Watchers..I did 2 months after my daugther was born and within 7 months I had lost all my baby weight and then some (50lbs!). Good luck!
