How long does it take to get back into shape after the baby is here, and what can I do to get there? It has been 2 months and I've only lost like 10 pounds. I feel like I still look pregnant. I hate wearing my maternity pants. I want to wear regular jeans. I really need some help!

AHhhhh.... the baby weight. I now wish that I watched what I ate a little more when I was prego. My daughter is now 2 months as well. I gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy and I have lost about 22lbs of it so far. I know that people say to take it easy, but its hard to look at yourself and not wish that you looked the way you did before you got knocked up. I started walking each day after she was born, each walk longer than the last. I would also make it to where I had a destination. Like the post office or the bank, so that I wouldn't convince myself not to go that day. Now I have decided to go back to the gym. I started with 2-3 times a week and moving back up to 4-5 times. Its not easy though. I completely lost my wind and now I have to strengthen my heart, legs, arms, and back all over again. My advice is to do what you can, but always know that you can't look the way you want without some work. Its not going to be easy, especially with a baby to take care of, but I would rather feel good about myself than not. Make daddy watch the baby for an hour. You getting back into shape won't just make you feel good, it will make daddy happy too. ; )

Well, to be honset with you, I didn't do anything. I breastfed my son, and you burn 500 calories a day just doing that. But I would say take your son/daughter for daily walks. He/she would enjoy the fresh air and walking is really good for our bodies and to loose weight. And when you're watching TV, do some scrunches and some push-ups during the commercials. Best of luck!!

There will never be a Normal after pergo.... ever...u may appear improve outwardly but never rly goes back to pre baby body. .however!! I had my 1st kid when I was toothpick thin at 18...2nd at 20 and weighed about 155.. went back to close 2 same weight by not eating much n just having 2 babies and trying to secure a solid relationship.((weight loss by stress likely))...I was about 155 before baby #3 and he was born dec.2010..now 3yrold..and I'm 150 again.....my lowest weight was the year the last baby was born. Got down to 130 by eating bare minimal carbs. (10 aday) and doing cardiovascular at least 40 mins aday and taking diet and energy supplements. ..With working and babies and the hubby it's very hard to loose weight if ur soul ain't in it..I still have a tummy pooch..I believe it'll never go away full and when it was nearly gone.i was nearly dead from all the stress of upkeep. Xxooo it's possible though..good luck.... check out Atkins com

Well if you're breastfeeding, keep going because that helps! Also, I used to take my son for a walk whenever I had time. For your tummy, I always used to wear those tight tummy shaping things. I bought one at Motherhood, it was a little bulky and uncomfortable sometimes but I would just wear that one around the house. Target also sells undergarments that help keep you tummy in and flat. I also heard Brooke Burke has a website and sells a tummy shaping undergarment that I actually want to try. I know it's hard to get down and do some crunches, but try to remember to always keep your tummy sucked in. That actually helps it work out. Even when you just sitting there, concentrate on sucking your bellybutton to your back. Hope this helps at least a little! :)

are you breastfeeding? that's probably the easiest way...
if not, just give it time lol. try belly dancing!!! worked wonders for my tummy chub.
i also tried pole dancing and that works for your whole body!
if you want to wear normal pants just go out and buy a pair in the size you are now. you could also buy some sort of tummy trimmer...like a body wrap or spanxs.
i have a couple pairs of jeans that are devoted to my first couple months after birth!

Girl don't loose hope... remember that it took nine months to get that way. lol. I breast feed so that helps alot and if you have a stroller you can try walking but it's hard loosing that baby wieght.

It took me three months to go back to my pre-baby weight. But I'm a diabetic and I have to really watch what I eat. Plus I didn't gain a ton when I was pregnant due to my daibete's again. You'll get there soon enough! My hubby liked me better when I was a little bigger:o) He actually told me he'd rather me stay a little bigger- but my little one is almost 11 months old and all over the place- so I get lots of exercise running after her. I didn't even start exercising until she was 6 months old- and even that was more walking with her then anything. As one of the oterh mom's mentioned- the little one is only 8 weeks old! Enjoy your time with the baby- sonn enough you won't get all the cuddle time! Trust me! My daughter screams her fool head off because she wants to be on the floor exploring- not in my arms where I want her:o( I'm sure your man finds you beautiful no matter what you think. Good luck.

Stop!!!!!!! Right there!!!!!!!!! You ahve just ahd a baby and shes only 8 weeks old! PLease dont feel like you have to start doing jumping jacks or sit ups...be a new mom for a while. I found out the hard way and so now I tell moms that rushing to loose weight only makes you look worse and feel like crap.

I started sit ups when my daughter was 5 weeks old. A big mistake. I have lost over a stone since she was born because I needed to get back to my pre-pregnancy body. Well lets just say I went past that and my partner found it hard to deal with. Im still after 21 months trying to put weight back on.

You are a mom and your baby is still very young. Dont rush it.

My advice to you is to eat healthily. Drink plenty of water and take multi vitamins. start with sit upsevry other day for ten minutes only. the build it up. But you know the best exercise for a new mom is walking with that buggy. Go for a half hour walk everyday and youl soon see that baby belly slip away. Get some of thse skin coloured pants that cover your belly and bum if you are that self conscious about how you look.

Have you asked your partner how he feels about the baby weight??? not that it should matter, but he may like it!

Do not feel bad. I lost about 10 pounds when she was born but it like stopped. I started eating right and walking every day that I could and then went out and bought a Wii Fit and work out with it every day. It will come off one day that is for sure so just keep working at it. I hope this helps and good luck!!!

i'm not big on working out or anything. esp w a baby makes it to hard, by the time i have time i'm to tired. so i nvr rlly did it lol. but my daughter is two now. but i can fit into my old jeans. well for the most part. still not back to my old self fully yet. but i'm gettin there. if you work out an go to a gym or something like my friend jennifer did you can be your old self in a few months.
