Getting your old figure back

I have a 1 month old baby girl and already lost all the weight I gained during the pregnancy... I still have 1 pound to go!!! But my stomach is not the way it was before... I look bloated (very bloated!) and that dark line on my belly is still there. How long does it take for my belly to get back to what it was before I got pregnant???

The weight was easy for me to lose with both my kids, but the shape is a completely different story. With my son, I was able to feel confident in a bikini 5 months after he was born. BUT, I never fit into my old pants again and purchased all new ones... Now my daughter is 10 weeks old and I still can't get into the jeans that I bought after my son was born. Ugh!

Cardio combined with sit-ups is the only real way...sit-ups alone will tone the muscles...but there is still that "layer" of fat there, and Cardio is the only thing that will get rid of that. Know this though: If you get your body exactly back, you are extreemly lucky. Most women undergo such a change in the pelvic region that their prepregnancy clothes never fit the same again.

They say the same amount of time it took to make the baby is the same amount of time it takes to fully look yourself prior to baby...everyone is different, though! Go you for losing the weight though thats awesome!! =)

This is my first baby and he is now 2 months old! I gained about 40 pounds total even though I ate healthy and walked almost everyday. I have lost about 20 of it and would like to lose about 15 more. I am even breastfeeding and the weight doesn't seem to fly off. I still have the dark line on my belly and it looks like I am very bloated also! It is soo embarassing to still have to wear maternity pants because my regular pants won't button. Oh well. I think I am just too self conscious about it. My husband doesn't seem to mind.

thanks to a wonderful midwife, i lost all my preggie weight right after the birth and was able to fit into my jeans (not the skinny ones) 10 days after the fact. almost 6 months later I am still struggling to get the flatness back. but I'll get there eventually. i suppose patience is the virtue and in the meantime I just enjoy my daughter.

PS - i must also mention that she was born just before winter, so the layering has really helped.

give your tummy about 9 months to fully your pelvic floor exercises and sit ups and exfoliate your tummy in the shower and the line will fade faster.

You should feel very lucky to lose all that baby weight. Some people never fully lose it! That dark line will eventually go away on its own, but the only way to get the belly flat again, is sit-ups, sit-ups, and more sit-ups! Good Luck!

I'm so jealous! I have four kids, and I lost weight very quickly with the first three, but my last one did me in...My stomach looks so chunky. I hate it!! I heared that wrapping your stomach very tightly in ace bandage or a girdle will help you get back to normal. It would probably be difficult to breath, but you cant have beauty without pain, right?! LOL
