My 5 month old daughter loves to be outside in the yard, just sitting outside with her at the table or strolling around, bug spray won't help ! What can I do ? So frustrating that the sun is out, and we are inside ! Grrrrrrrrr....... :(

I tried the vinegar, and sweet liquids in a jar indoors in the kitchen and it worked really well. I put a napkin over the jar, but left a crack on each side so they can enter. I caught almost all of them. Outside it really is tricky. Some of the sprays are strong and expensive, and some they are cheaper and afraid they might not work!

I do know that moisture can really attract them. Like piles of leaves than were rained on, and plants as well. Gnats will damage your plants, so if you have alot thats prob what they are after.

lol I looked it up and it said that for a long term effect you should use pyrethroid chemicals., if you want to go that route.

It also said that if you want to go a more natural approach that you can go to a local nursery and buy roundworms and put them in the soil in the areas that are affected mostly, and they will inade the larvae and put off a bacteria that kill them

Yea it seems like they always go for your face, I cant stand it! I feel bad when we go in after 10 min. but I cant take it!

Well,

Citronella candles would help they said, THEY DON'T ! Lol...
They really seem to be after human body heat or something like that, they are awfully annoying ! They seem to love eyes, hair, face....i don't know what to do. Flying insect fog might do it, but then again, you never know what really works and what not. It's not even only gnats, it's some kind of weed bug or (wheat bug) i tried the vinegar and dish soap in a bowl, it does not really work....When it's cold or rainy they are gone, as soon as the sun comes out, there they are ! GRRRRRRRRR :'(

I deal with the same thing! Last year it was considerable bad, it was like a plague! Veyr frustratiing to stay inside, when they are wanting so bad to be out.

Have you tried the spray you put directly on the lawn, I have heard it works very well for mesquitos, dont see why it wouldnt work on those too! Just check the label and make sure gnats are listed. I didnt try it last yr but def will this yr if the prob. comes up this summer
