What are everyone's opinions about vaccinating their children with the H1N1 vaccine?

I do not plan on getting either of my children the vaccine. I actually sell a vitamin, made by Shaklee called Nutriferon. It has been tested and proven that it kills the flu virus. I just use Shaklee products. And my children have not had the flu. My oldests is in 1st grade and is around lots of children that have had it and she just keeps taking the Nutriferon and she is flu free. I also use all of there cleaning supplies. You can check out all Shaklee's products. www.shaklee.net/denisefriday.

I am always afraid if I give my kids the vaccine then they will definately get it because there is always that chance, so I trust Shaklee and it hasn't proven me wrong yet!!

I won't be, for some of the same reasons as others have listed. They don't know what the effects will be, and some doctors have actually come out against it saying the vaccine is actually worse than the flu itself (don't know for sure about that one, but I never heard of doctors being against vaccines before!) We won't be getting any special vaccinations, but I will be getting the regular if my doctor recommends it, because I work weekends at a retail shop.

here in france the vacine is not to be given to children under 6 months anyway, and as someone with a pharmaceutical background I'd rather take my chances without the vaccine, the common flu kills just as many people each winter but you don't get the same hype about that. We'll just be carying out the precautions so not to catch anything - just like we do every year

I don't plan on getting it for me or Josh. I'm a SAHM so we're only with each other all day. The only time he's around other kids is at the nursery at the gym. I'll just step up the hand washing and we should be fine. And I'm only getting him the regular flu shot because we'll be flying in November and he'll be exposed to all sorts of cooties at the airport. I don't plan on getting a flu shot though, I've never gotten one and I've never had the flu, at least not that I can remember!

I was on the fence about the vaccine too. In my opinion i think they came up with the vaccine way to fast so i asked the nurse at my doctors office when i brought my 4 month old to get her needls and she shook her head at me and said she doesnt think i should give it to my daughter because they dont know all of the side affects of the vaccine yet and there isnt only one but there are two needles you and your child will have to get.

I honestly am on the fence. I live in deep south Texas on the border and the virus has hit hard here. The first death in the US was from here and more have happened since then. I want to get her vaccinated but i don't know about this shot. They dont know any long term effects of this new vaccine. They don't know what the effects could be a year from now or 10 years from now. I'm on the fence.

I'm all for it! I have a 2.5 year old and I'm actually waiting on that vaccine for myself as well. I'm 6.5 months pregnant and just can't chance catching the flu. My doctor highly encourages the flu vaccines and when it comes to my health (and my childrens) theres no one I trust more! I got my regular flu vaccine last week.
