Hello all
I have had the worst couple of days. My 17 month old son is very sick. He has had a fever of 103.6 and higher. I give him medicine Tylenol and give him baths. But it doesn't bring his fever down. No sleep I haven't gotten any sleep. I can feel the heat through his blanket or clothes. I finally got him to drink something. I took him to the doctor yesterday. We were there 3 hours. They tested him for everything. Then said its a virus let it run its course. I feel so bad for him. Plus, I had to leave him with my mom today because I have no more sick time to stay home. Anyone have any advice for me? I could use it.
Thanks for listening I feel a little better already.

Kind of sounds like foot and mouth. Did your docs say anything about this? As far as advice, I have none. My son who is 15 months just got done with all of this about 1 month ago. It was awful. Have you tried Pedia-lite? I know I didn't spell it right, but that is great as far as fluids go.

my sisters, my brother and me all used to get temps of 103+ when we were little, our mom would take us to the doc who would say "ears are fine, nose is fine, throat is fine, if the fever isn't gone in 3 days then bring them back." but! like clockwork on that 3rd day fever would be gone and we would be fine. clear liquids, lukewarm baths, and tylenol all worked for us it seems.

Aww I am so sorry, my oldest one is just like that, every time he gets a fever it shoots to 103 instantly. It can be very scary. The things that work for him are alternating between tylenol and motrin every 4-6 hours till the fever breaks and ice pops or slurpees and as many clear liquids I can sneak into him. Good luck, hope he feels better and you get some rest.
