i was told that avent was the best for baby, but I think I actually preferred the playtex drop ins. the avent tend to leak from the sides. the nipples are very durable on the avent but my daughter was breastfed and only had bottles on occasion and I found that after using the avent it was harder for her to latch on as opposed to the playtex, so i think the playtex nipples are probably closer in size and feel to the breast. all in all, i used them and thought they were ok, but i definitely did not like the leaky sides or the chapped nipples after she used them, their sippy cups however are really great and I use them with my daughter now

i used them when my daughter was first born. i now use mam bottles. they helped with her colic and she was a preme and she really only took to those bottles. i also use those kinds of pacies also. i would stick to one kind of bottle and use the same kind of paci.

I'm addicted to Avent, its such a good brand. I have the newborn starter kit, bottles, dummies, sterilizer, breast pump, formula containers, feeding system, you name it. We haven't had any problems with colic or anything like that, and the breast pump can be used with the feeding system and then put the teat straight on it. They are really durable and reliable, I haven't had any problems with anything.

I used Avent and I liked them a lot but you had to get the top on just right and double check the seal of the nipple or it will leak. My grandma ended up with breastmilk all over her shirt. Poor thing! After the first couple times you just get used to checking it. Granted I didn't have to deal with the bottles too much until about 8 months old because I was nursing. Sorry this is rambling on.

I love Avent bottles. I worked at a daycare and really like using them. With my son I have used them and I think they are great. He actually didnt drink the greatest from them at first. I started with gerber newborn bottles which worked cause they had smaller nipples, but now I love them.

I like them, the plastic is durable enough to handle hot temperatures and even the microwave. I've seen bottles that melt in the microwave.

i loved them for when my son was first born they were the best my son slept through the night at a month old and never once had colic and i think the bottles had alot to do with it because when he was newborn and still drinking the ready to feed disposable bottles he had rele bad hickups and was up all the time and once i started the bottles thats when he started to sleep good

I have one Avent bottle. and its one of my favorites. the nipples are nice. i dont know how much it acutally reduced colic etc. but I found that if i used a different bottle my daughter wouldnt drink from it, or it took her longer to, she just seemed to prefer the Avent bottle. I have heard nothing but good about the Avent bottles. I also have playtex Advanced they are the ones that are angled and have the screw on bottoms with the holes and the rubber stopper in the bottom. I find those ones really let the air pass through so it really reduduces the gas and what not. and they are really easy to clean.

. But now i have playtex drop-in, and i like them so much. they are easy to clean, and if you get a good nipple. then they are amazing. my daughter is 8 months old. and i still use the "slow" drip for 0-3 months because the nipples are shapped the same, but they dont drip at all or not as fast as the fast flows for the older babies.. And i use the old style laytex- brown nipples, because i bought the new sylicone nipple for slow as well and they dripped just like the fast.

the slow drip is so much better because that way if it falls out of the baby's mouth it wont make a mess all over like the fast nipples do. And if the baby falls asleep with the bottle in their mouth then the nipple wont drip milk into the back of the throat and they wont choke/ suffocate.

i found a big advantage as well to the Drop-in bottles was that because you squeeze all the air out, they dont get gas. and if your baby is going to be anything like my daughter, and she'd rather sit up and eat a bottle then lay down, when they are sucking the nipple it keeps the liquid to the top of the bottle, and she can sit up and drink.

Not much advice on Avent bottles., i know. Sorry lol. but they are great bottles. and i hope the other info helps. id say if i had to buy any bottle other then the Avent it'd have to be the Playtex advanced or the Playtex drop-in. Hope that helps.! good luck with everything. :)

I used them in my daycare and they are great because all of the part are interchangeable, so as your child grown you can reuse the bottoms and just change the spout, add handles, take away handles...etc.

they are amazing! i only use them when my little one is at my sisters while i'm at work but they are the best bottles espically if you also plan on breast feeding because unlike other bottles where you baby just has to naw on the nipple to get milk out with the avent bottles your baby has to use its tongue and suck out the milk just like breast feeding.
