this is really wonderful. my husbands dad was an addict his entire life on and off. sometimes it would be more mild and he would have a life, but sometimes we were going to get him out of jail when we were 16 and 17 at all hours of the night etc. and having blake did nothing, but you know what finally helped? the day i delivered our first child, it is just over 4 yrs ago now, he got out of jail and came to the hospital to see him and has never looked back since, he's even quit smoking bc of my sons allergies, so if anyone has this prob, hang in there maybe it will just take a grandchild.

I am so glad to have read your story and you turned your life around. I have not been through this personally but am saddend to say my brother 19 and his ex 20 went through this but unfortuantly the beutiful little girl they had together when they were 17 did not turn them around. Currently the mom is in jail and my brother is on his way back. Luckly my neice has wonderful grandparents on both sides who have taken custody of her and myself and my sister take her whenever we can. We still have hope that maybe they will see the light, maybe when Hailey (my neice) ask's her mommy where she's been for the last six months or dosn't reconize my brother one day as Daddy they will snap out of it. I am so glad your Daughter saved you and I am hoping and prying little Hailey will save her mom and dad one day too.

Hi, I haven't been through anything like you have but after reading you're story I'd like to post and say that I think you are wonderful and I wish there were more people like you that go from bad circumstances and turn your life into something great while helping others. Xx
