Has anyone heard of mongolian spots? If so how long do they last?

Both of my kids had them when they were born. They are Native American. It looked like a bruise above their butts. Both faded by about a year and a half.

My cousin little girl had one and they told her wouldnt start going away until she was atleast a yr however my cousin started rubbing tea tree oil on it and it started fading when she was 6 months!

my daughter has them she has it on her butt and both of her shoulders.. but her shoulders have faded the one on her butt will be there a while but they do fade after they start to grow, my cousins had then when we were little and now they don't have anything so dont worry they will fade eventually disappear

Ya thats what I heard as well, im hispanic and my mom just told me that me and my sis had it too! But ours are totally gone!

yup both my kids have them my doc told me it is something kids of color get??? My daughter is 8 and you can still see hers a little bit.

No they wont go totally go away.. its a birthmark and like all birthmarks they may fade a little as children get older but not always

ya my daughter has a fairly large one on her booty! I hope it fades at least a little!

My son has a mongolian spot. He's a year old, and it's still there. I hear that gray birthmarks like that fade, but I don't know when.
